Kim Zolciak-Biermann is purchasing bullet-proof backpacks for her children after the tragic Parkland, Florida, school shooting. The mom of Brielle, 20, Ariana, 16, KJ, 6, Kash, 5, and twins Kaia and Kane, 4, took to social media to discuss safety on Thursday, December 15.
“I just asked Kroy what can we do as parents to protect our children everyday in this crazy sad world,” the Bravo reality star wrote in an Instagram post. “He said, ‘best thing we could do for now is get bullet proof book bags.’ You know I just did! It’s better than not having anything at all. Just thought I would share with you guys. I just found this first on Amazon so I bought it. It’s certified.”
Kim posted an image of the backpack from Amazon which is called the “Guard Dog Security ProShield 2 Bulletproof Backpack" and retails for $114.29.
The horrific shooting killed 17 people on Wednesday, February 14, and was carried out by 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz. Cruz, who had been expelled from the school for disciplinary reasons, has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder. Among those who died were students and teachers ranging from ages 14 to 35.
