Say what?! Tom Brady cut his weekly interview with WEEI radio short on Monday, January 29, after one of the showâs hosts made a disrespectful comment about his adorable 5-year-old daughter, Vivian Lake, with wife Gisele Bundchen.
WEEI personality Alex Reimer was discussing the âTom vs. Timeâ Facebook documentary when he remarked âBradyâs in the kitchen, his kidâs being an annoying little pissant.â
The Patriots quarterback then caught wind of the comment and made it known during his weekly interview.
âIâve tried to come on this show for many years and showed you guys a lot of respect,â the Super Bowl MVP said. âIâve always tried and come on and do a good job for you guys. Itâs very disappointing when you hear [the comments about my daughter], certainly. My daughter, or any child, certainly donât deserve that.â
Cohost Kirk Minihane then apologized, but Tom ended the interview.
âIâll obviously evaluate whether I want to come on this show again, so I really donât have much to say this morning,â he concluded. âSo, maybe Iâll speak with you guys some other time.â
On Friday, January 26, WEEI announced that Reimer has been suspended indefinitely. Brady has since come to his defense, revealing he doesnât want him fired over the incident.
Tom was asked about the situation on Super Bowl LII Opening Night and compassionately remarked: "We all have careers and make mistakes. I'd hate for someone to have to change their life over something like that. That was certainly not what he intended."
Hunk with a heart = swoon. The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles will face off at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for Super Bowl LII, which airs on NBC on Sunday, February 4, at 3:30 p.m. PT.
