After revealing his engagement over the weekend, Ed Sheeran followed it up by saying he will be retiring from music in the not-too-distant future to become a family man.
Some fans aren’t taking his claim seriously, but it was actually Ed’s commitment to his fiancée Cherry Seaborn that made him take a yearlong hiatus from music in 2016.
"The catalyst of taking a year off was also the fact that my partner quit her job in New York," he explains. "But we were just basically like, 'Let’s quit our jobs and have a year of forming a tight bond.' So we went traveling and spent every day for a year together."
So if Ed is willing to put everything behind him for love once, there’s no reason to think he won’t do it permanently, eventually.
