The Stranger Things cast always dominate award shows when it comes to meeting their idols. Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas in the hit Netflix series, stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Friday, January 12, and recalled to Ryan what it was like to meet celebs like Drake and Pharrell at the Golden Globes.
“I met Drake, Pharrell and Mary J. Blige … at the Netflix afterparty,” the (lucky!) 16-year-old actor recalled, revealing that upon entering the bash, he first made a beeline for Drake.
“[Drake] was like super nice. … He was sitting down. He was on his phone and looked up and he walked over — I was walking to him too because I saw him and I was like, ‘I’m going straight to that guy!' — but then he saw me and we met midway and he was like ‘Hey man’ and he gave me a hug and he was like ‘I’m proud of you’ … he was the nicest guy. It was very genuine, like my friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. It was like we finally found each other, that’s how it felt.”
Caleb’s enviable bonding didn’t stop there, either.
“[Pharrell] was really nice,” he added. “He was like 'Keep doing what you’re doing.' He was just like a chill guy, like really cool and chill and he was really nice as well as Ms. Mary J. Blige.”
