Lena Dunham took to social media on Tuesday, January 9, after news broke of her split from boyfriend Jack Antonoff.
The Girls star posted a quote that reads: “Starting over is the beautiful moment when you choose yourself.” She captioned the post “❤️ forever love ❤️.”
Lena also shared that she’ll continue to wear a ring that Jack gave her.
“I’m wearing this ring that Jack gave me … and I’ll always wear it,” Dunham said during an Instagram live. “Because love is a really cool, powerful, eternal thing. It doesn’t have to be defined the way, we in Western culture, define it as beginnings and ends.”
As previously reported, the actress, 31, and Bleachers frontman, 33, called it quits in December after nearly 6 years together. According to multiple reports, the split was amicable.
Just one month earlier, in November, Lena had taken to Twitter to share that she thought she caught the musician talking about proposing.
"I thought Jack was furtively planning a proposal to me with his sister and he just admitted I actually caught him 'talking s--t' about me!” she tweeted at the time. "Now I literally can't sleep cuz I'm laughing too hard and I am also keeping him awake. 5.5 years, no rock and you know what? It's real nice."
