Mario Lopez has a sweet new gig! He is the host of the new Candy Crush TV game show, which premiered on CBS last Sunday.
“It’s the first mobile game to be adapted into a TV game show and it’s fun,” Lopez told On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Friday. “It’s family friendly, teams basically swipe and try to match candies and they do it while doing these obstacles in the world’s largest virtual game board, Guinness actually gave us a record at the end of the episode.” In case you were wondering the game board measures 20 feet, 4 and 11/16 inches wide by 25 feet, 9 and 1/16 inches tall.
Not only is Lopez hosting the TV game show, but a candified version of him will be hosting in-game events on the app that will coincide with the show.
"They send you the images before for your approval to see if you like you candified," he says. "The first one they sent me my head was so big and I know I like got a big Rottweiler head in real life, but I’m like 'C’mon you guys this is ridiculous with this size head.' So they finally kind of made it not as massive, but the process was funny.”
Candy Crush airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on CBS.
