Missy Elliott's global club banger "Work It" has been around since 2002, but some fans are barely finding out what the femcee is actually saying after the memorable line: "I put my thing down, flip it and reverse it."
The lyrics that follow sound like gibberish, or what BuzzFeed can only describe as: "ityerpripenipetzwaaahhnyeeeeehhh." Thanks to a quick lyric search, people on Twitter are now realizing that the raptress is literally reversing the lyric to: "Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gniht ym tup I."
Last year around this time, the Internet had a revelation on Jennifer Lopez and Ja Rule's 2001 collaboration "I'm Real (Remix)."
A lot of people thought Jenny From the Block was singing "are you Ellie" or poorly enunciating "are you ready," but the singer was really spelling out Ja Rule's name (R-U-L-E), in response to his question in the intro.
