Speed demon Danica Patrick will be burning rubber in the No. 10 Aspen Dental Ford Fusion at the Auto Club 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in Fontana, California this Sunday.
According to Patrick, the Fontana race will be a lot more challenging compared to other races across the country due to racetrack's worn-out pavement. "When the tracks get older, they're rougher, they have seams, and bumps, and it makes it harder," she told On Air with Ryan Seacrest over the phone on Friday.
When asked if a repaved racetrack would appease the competitors, Patrick said race car drivers would actually disapprove."If you ask us race car drivers, we say don't because when they repave it, it ends up being so perfectly smooth and flat that they usually bring a tire that is hard and won't wear out because of our potential to drive fast is so much better...When they repave it, it tends to make the racing not quite as interesting."
