Auli’i Cravalho, Lin-Manuel Miranda Perform 'How Far I'll Go' At The Oscars (VIDEO)

From the islands of Polynesia to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the Oscar-nominated original song "How Far I'll Go" from Disney's Moana made its way to the 89th Academy Awards Sunday night.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the song that earned him his first Oscar nomination, introduced 16-year-old star Auli'i Cravalho (the voice of Moana) with a rap intro that segued into her Oscars debut. Cravalho, dressed in a red gown, embellished her performance with dancers waving blue banners to give her set an aquatic aesthetic.

"How Far I'll Go" is competing for best original song against Justin Hurwitz's "City of Stars" and "Audition (The Fools Who Dream)" from La La Land,  J. Ralph and Sting's "The Empty Chair" from Jim: The James Foley Storyand Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling" from the movie Trolls.

If Miranda, 37, wins the Academy Award in the best original song category, he will become the youngest of only 13 people in history to win an EGOT (an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony).
