Camila Cabello's relationship with Fifth Harmony got a little rocky after she departed from the all-girl pop collective last December, with Cabello and the remaining members of 5H penning open letters on social media to share conflicting stories about the fallout.
On Monday, excerpts from Cabello's cover story for Seventeen magazine's March/April issue was released, in which she says, "Fifth Harmony wasn't the maximum expression of me individually," and adds, "My goal is to be brave and open up my soul." The following day, Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui wrote the tweet, "Fake that confidence bih, one day it'll be real."
The tweet sparked a social media firestorm after Internet sleuth's read it as a subtweet at Cabello's Seventeen interview. After the cryptic tweet picked up a few headlines, Jauregui wrote another tweet to shut down her alleged drama with Cabello.
"Media assuming sh*t and falsely reporting hatred is so boring," she wrote. "REPORT the positive shit..there's too much negativity in this world rn."
Announcement of Cabello's departure was made on Instagram following Fifth Harmony's performance at Y100's Jingle Ball last December. Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui shared the news on Instagram with a letter that Cabello claims she was not aware of.
