Pop princess Sabrina Carpenter channeled her inner Birdman for the gritty "Thumbs" music video that was filmed in one continuous take.
The visual launches with Carpenter strutting to the fervent symphonic opening inside a bleak subway car, where she finds herself singing in between jaded pedestrians and dancing with buskers during a flickering power failure.
The video also appears to be a tribute to her Girl Meets World stomping ground. The subway was a familiar set on the show and hosted some of its biggest moments, including her first appearance as Maya, and the first time Rowan Blanchard's Riley met Peyton Meyer's Lucas Friar. The show, a spinoff of Boy Meets World, launched on The Disney Channel in 2014 and aired three seasons before its final episode on January 20, 2017.
Carpenter's "Thumbs" is lifted from her second studio album EVOLution (via Hollywood Records), which also spawned "On Purpose," "All We Have Is Love," and "Run and Hide."
