Actress Leslie Mann stars opposite of Robert De Niro in the new film The Comedian, which follows the life of an aging comic named Jack Burke (De Niro) who is struggling to depart from his sitcom past and reinvent himself.
After confronting an audience member, Jack is forced to serve out a sentence doing community service where he meets Harmony (Mann), the daughter of a sleazy Florida real estate mogul (Harvey Keitel) who gives him the inspiration he needs. During an interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest Thursday morning, Mann called her collaboration with De Niro a "great experience" but said it was intimidating at first.
"I was so nervous meeting him for the first time because I've always looked up to him as an actor," she said. "He was just so nice, and he couldn't have been nicer. He also has an amazing body!"
The film, directed by Taylor Hackford, also has an all-star supporting cast including Edie Falco, Danny DeVito, Patti LuPone, and Veronica Ferres. The Comedian is in theaters this Friday via Sony Pictures Classics.
