Chrissy Teigen may be getting a visit from both Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy this Christmas after losing a tooth in a holiday activity "gone wrong."

On Sunday (December 21), the Cravings cookbook author shared a video to Instagram of her family "growing candy canes," including daughters Luna, 9, and Esti, 2, hard at work smashing up Oreo cookies to use as soil and Teigen teaching sons Miles, 7, and Wren, 2, the perfect way to water their project and help it grow.

She planted mini candy canes into the pots overnight so the kids were surprised in the morning, replacing them even bigger treats the following morning to show off how much they have grown. However, while the project was the perfect holiday activity, the sweet plan caused some unexpected hardships for the mom of four.

In another clip, Teigen covered her mouth as she explained that she had been working on "candy-cane growing" and tried to open "one of these bad boys" and her "tooth fell off." She then smiled to reveal the missing veneer from her front tooth and her old tooth that had been filed down.

"This is what moms do for their kids, so you can think you grew a candy cane," she said. "I was trying to create magic — now I have no tooth."

Always a good sport, Teigen poked fun at her missing veneer in the caption, hilariously writing, "merry chrithmath from our family to yours!!!!!!!" Her husband, John Legend, also laughed at his wife's misfortune, leaving behind several crying laughing emojis in the comments under the video.

According to People, Teigen was able to get a quick fix for her tooth as she shared another video to her Instagram Stories of her in a dentist's chair getting her veneer refitted, joking she's "back in business."
