Ben Affleck relates to his character's lack of smoothness in his upcoming film, The Accountant 2, slated for release later this month.
According to Page Six, the actor commented on his character's inability to flirt with women during a recent press junket for the movie, stating that "like so many of us" Christian Wolff is uncomfortable "extending himself" to a potential partner.
"Here’s a guy who’s trying to figure out — he wants to have a relationship with a woman. He’s trying to figure out how to do that, like, how to put yourself out there. You know, he’s not comfortable extending himself. He doesn’t really know how to flirt exactly. He’s not comfortable like so many of us."
He continued, commenting on how "humiliating" it is to strike up a conversation when things don't go as planned.
"It’s not easy for anyone figuring out relationships, particularly at the very early part, where you’re trying to gauge, ‘What does this signal mean? Is this person looking at me? Do they like me? Am I going to humiliate myself if I go over there?'"
The Argo star's divorce from Jennifer Lopez was finalized in February, and rumors of him rekindling a connection with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, surfaced the following month. The former pair share children Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, and while they maintain a civil co-parenting relationship, Garner has no plans of getting back with Affleck as she is very happy with her current partner, John Miller.
