Matthew McConaughey Talks NYT Bestselling Children's Book 'Just Because'

Matthew McConaughey has a new children's book that debuted at #1 on the New York Times' Bestseller list!

Ryan Seacrest chatted with the two time NYT Bestselling Author (his first book, a memoir, Greenlights, released in 2020) and actor about what the lesson in the book that he wants the children to learn. "I think to let kids know that you could have two dueling feelings at the same time is okay."

Kids may have a lot of pressure on them to achieve and do everything positively when they're younger but the book focuses on the idea that it's okay to do good one day and screw up another, or feel one way at one moment and feel a different way another moment.

How did actor and author come up with the idea and content for the book?

"I was dreaming," he told Seacrest. "This was a diddy in my head... and so I kind of woke up and kept a rhythm in my head and starting writing down for about 4 hours, and when you got a good dream you don't want to interrupt that rhythm of your thought."
