During and after the pandemic, working from home was all the rage. Employees loved the flexibility, and not having to pay for child care, and not having to wear pants.
When things started to open back up and people wanted to get out of their normal work from home environment, people started hitting the gym during the day for a little break. Many started taking meetings or calls in the lobby or a corner of the gym for work purposes. Because of this, many people started using this as an opportunity to create something different.
A lot of higher-end gyms have started adding office space: cubicles with power and WiFi, so members can go to the gym and do some work while they're there if needed. Some even are adding entire floors of office space with A/V equipment, conference rooms, privacy booths, and a full kitchen.
WeWork, a company that rents out office spaces and workspaces for those who do remote work, is struggling to stay alive. Coffee shops are often over-run with workers who need to get out of the house, and can be crowded, noisy or hard to find space to sit and work.

As workers realize staying home all day is very isolating, but no one wants to go to the office either, these new “gyoffices” could be the answer.
Heimat on La Brea in West Hollywood has a "gyoffice" setup, but it’s very fancy. This will likely become very common by this time next year.
