A tip sent to the anonymous celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi (h/t Barstool Sports' Jerry Thornton) claimed that an "A-list actress who JUST announced her divorce is newly dating A-list NFL athlete who is also recently divorce," with a fake email address listed as "firstname.lastname@example.org," referencing Witherspoon's signature role in the Legally Blonde film franchise and Brady's two NFL teams, the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rumor comes days after Witherspoon and her ex-husband, Jim Toth, announced their divorce after 12 years and five months after Brady and his ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, announced their divorce after 13 years.
It's worth noting that the tip is unsolicited and has not been proven as neither Brady nor Witherspoon have confirmed or even acknowledged it publicly.
Brady announced he's "retiring for good" after 23 NFL seasons in a video shared on his official social media accounts. The 45-year-old had previously announced his retirement last offseason before announcing his decision to return several weeks later.
Brady is set to become FOX Sports' lead NFL analyst beginning after the conclusion of his playing career, but has publicly stated that he won't start until 2024, taking the next year to spend time with his family and prepare for the job. The San Mateo native is the NFL's all-time passing leader for yards and touchdowns, as well as quarterback wins, among numerous other records.
Witherspoon, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as the late June Carter Cash in Walk the Line, is one of Hollywood's top A-lists actresses, consistently ranking among the world's highest-paid actresses, as well as being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2006 and 2015 by Time.
