Oscar-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson is set to take the directorâs chair for the seven-part Tell It Like A Woman anthology project. Henson is set to direct Oscar-winning singer-actress Jennifer Hudson and Pauletta Washington, according to a report by Variety.Â
The dynamic trio will be taking over one of the Tell It Like Woman segments, entitled "Pepcy & Kim," which is based on the true story of Kim Carter, who battled addiction and has since started a foundation, the Time For Change Foundation, to support women and children experiencing homelessness.Â
The outlet reported that Hudson will star in the segment, playing both parts of "Pepcy" and "Kim" alongside Washington. This segment was written by Catherine Hardwicke and completes the anthology project that will be compiled into one feature film. The project is being produced by Iervolino Entertainment.Â
âThe talents of Taraji, Jennifer and Pauletta are awe-inspiring and on full display in their adaptation of the amazing Kim Carter story,â Andrea Iervolino said in a statement to Variety.
âThis trio is a marvelous compliment to the spirited filmmakers and talent banding together for this one-of-a-kind film, and their sincerity in delivering a âmust seeâ segment is simply moving. We canât wait to show this film to the world,â the producer added.Â
