Avril Lavigne's done with her new album, and fans won't have to wait too long to hear it. When a fan asked on Instagram when we can expect her seventh album, the "Sk8er Boi" singer replied: “It’s done! Music coming soon. For sure summer.”
As if the followup to 2019's Head Above Water coming out this year isn't exciting enough news on its own, producer John Feldmann revealed she's “bringing back her pop-punk roots.”
“I’m working on making an album with Avril Lavigne right now who I just love. I love making this album, I love her and I’m having the best time,” he gushed during an interview with Wall of Sound in December. When asked if the new collection would be “bringing back her pop-punk roots," Feldmann's answer was short and sweet: "F**k yeah!"

Lavigne's been teasing the album for a few months now, sharing photos from the studio with Machine Gun Kelly. She's also featured on a new song with Mod Sun ("Flames"). The duo recently sparked dating rumors when they were spotted getting dinner together in Los Angeles last week. The rapper also got "AVRIL" tattooed on the back of his neck, which really fuels the flames (pun intended).
