Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat delve into insecurity and envy within a relationship on their new single, "Baby I'm Jealous."
The duo dropped the song at midnight on Friday (October 9). Bebe kicks things off on the upbeat track, singing, "Went from beautiful to ugly/ 'Cause insecurity told me you don't love me/ All it takes is a girl above me/ On your timeline to make me nothing/ This is me, a woman in dichotomy/ I love me, until I don't."
She then goes into the chorus where she sings about being jealous of "the pictures" her man likes and "girls with lighter eyes."
For Doja's part, she raps about being a "bad b*tch," stealing "ya man," and letting "trash" men go.
"That chick can't be that chick Baby, I'm a bad b*tch/ If he fiendin' he'll prolly get a catfish/ Keep him dreamin' to pull up on a nap, sh*t/ I don't even be askin' him, 'Who that chick?'/ Uh-huh, who that chick? Nah/ That's pitiful, that's so average, why," she raps. "Some women want men and some girls want wives/ Tell lies until they buggin' and they pants on fire, uh/ I stole ya man/ He got freedom to chase what he likes I know you mad/ But he ain't even worth none of your time/ It's such a drag/ I'm not being spiteful, but he's trash/ Won't be the last/ To let you know, but he gon' show you."
"Baby I'm Jealous," which is produced by Jason Gil and Jussifer, is Bebe's first single of 2020. She is currently working on the follow-up to her debut studio album, 2018’s Expectations.
