Billie Eilish and her mom, Maggie Baird, are helping donate food to those in need amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Maggie Zoomed with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Monday, April 13, and also helped surprise a Billie Eilish fan and listener for her birthday!
Maggie shared with Seacrest they created Support + Feed to help support small businesses, like their favorite plant-based eateries.
“We’d just gotten home from tour about five days before and I was thinking 'Gosh, this is going to hurt so many businesses,'” Maggie shared. “I wish I could order food from every plant-based restaurant or our favorite vegan restaurants in town, but we can’t eat it [all]. But, wait, we could send that food to people who need it like homeless shelters, women’s shelters; how about doctors on the frontline? So we ordered some food and we tried it ourselves and realized it’s a great idea but it needed some work so we formed this organization to do exactly that called Support + Feed.”
The food, Maggie explained, “ends up with doctors and nurses, hospital workers on the frontlines, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, food pantries,” and more. To help donate a meal, all you have to do is go to www.supportandfeed.com and pick any restaurant.
The famous family has also been staying busy at home, being creative.
“They are working on music, yeah,” Maggie shared of Billie and brother Finneas O'Connell, who also joined iHeartRadio's Living Room Concert for America. “[They’re] writing and working on music.”
The fam also added two new puppies to the mix! Listen back to Seacrest’s full interview with Maggie in the audio above to hear Maggie surprise a Billie Eilish fan live on-air!
