The Tonight’s Show’s house band and probably the most influential live hip hop band of all time, The Roots, have their roots in the streets of Philadelphia and now they also literally have their own street in the City of Brotherly Love as well.
Philadelphia’s city council voted to have a section of East Passyunk Avenue below South Street nicknamed "Avenue of the Roots."
The group’s leader and resident drum master Questlove was deeply moved to see his hometown shower them with love, writing on Instagram: "It’s really awesome to see the place we honed our skills and craft embrace us like this.”
