It took Lizzo less than a year to go from being relatively unknown to a household name and the fact that she makes truly infectious music obviously played a big part in her meteoric rise.
Though Lizzo thinks something else was equally important, her own decision before she found fame to simply be nicer to others.
"I wanted to be a kinder, happier person and the fact that now it is impacting the world means the world wants to be kinder and nicer to each other," she tells the Daily Star. "I think that is why I'm so popular right now...We’ve seen some really dark days recently and I just want to be a part of the light."
Lizzo will be performing at the iHeartRadio Music Awards March 29th on FOX.
