Coldplay’s new, equal parts experimental and radio friendly double-album Everyday Life is out today.
Typically when a band, especially one as popular as Coldplay, releases an album they pack up the buses and planes for a massive world tour.
However, frontman Chris Martin and company have announced they will not be hitting the road, though it’s not for personal reasons or internal band drama.
They have made the decision with Mother Earth in mind.
"We're taking time over the next year or two to work out how our tour can not only be sustainable, but how can it be actively beneficial," Chris explains to BBC News. "All of us have to work out the best way of doing our job and we want all our future tours to have a positive impact on the environment."
The biggest environmental riddle they face is somehow reducing air travel, but Chris also wants to have zero single use plastic at shows and use 100% solar power.
