On Tuesday (October 29), Duff and Disney+ took to social media with images of the 32-year-old’s first day on the set of the forthcoming revival, and it's giving us major nostalgia. In the first photo shared by the network, a concerned Lizzie is wearing a yellow trench coat and carrying around a stuffed, life-size alpaca while walking through NYC, where tons of giant soapy bubbles are floating by. (In case you’re wondering, Duff revealed the alpaca’s name is Henry.)
“Happy first LIZZIE day!!!!!!! NYC…… cue the rain,” Duff wrote as a nod to her song “Come Clean” along with another picture of her own, this time modeling her outfit sans her furry friend.
These new images come just a week after the Lizzie McGuire cast — including Jake Thomas, Hallie Todd and Robert Carradine — reunited for a "family dinner" reunion snapshot on Instagram.
As Lizzie McGuire fans know, a reboot of the series was officially confirmed during the D23 Expo back in August. The new installment will revisit a thirtysomething Lizzie living in the Big Apple, where she works as an apprentice to an interior designer and is engaged to a chef. Since the announcement was made, Duff has been slowly but surely teasing details about the show and even gave fans the first glimpse of Lizzie’s new look a few weeks ago, which features a blonde topknot hairstyle.
