Whether it is putting a ring on a cow's udder or getting engaged at a big event, it seems that everyone is trying to have the best proposal ever. However, that's not how 30-year-old Edi Okoro thinks. The British romantic has known for months that he wants to marry his girlfriend, Cally Read. In fact, he even got a ring earlier in the year, but couldn't quite figure out just how to ask Cally to be his wife, though he knew he wanted it to be spontaneous, because that's how he is.
He wrote on Facebook, "I took the ring with me everywhere hoping the 'moment' would arise in line with my spontaneous style. After a month or so of waiting for the right moment, I was sitting on the sofa admiring 'my precious' and it hit me... I should just start documenting these moments."
So unbeknownst to Cally, Edi started taking the ring out with her nearby and secretly shooting some photos.
He knew she might turn around and catch him but if that happened, he planned to just pop the question then and there. In his Facebook post, Edi said, "The idea was to take as many photos, in more daring scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose, or until I got caught, at which point I would propose."
Well recently, something happened where Edi finally did show Cally the ring for real and ask her to be his wife. She said yes, but he didn't reveal how he wound up asking her, saying it is "a story for another time." He did reveal that she never caught on to his game and only found out about it "several weeks later."
Edi describes his smile in the engagement pic as a "You Know Nothing Cally Read" smile.
