Earlier in the day, Taylor revealed via social media (in her Lover filter) that, "I'm not just gonna be opening up the show with one song, I get to do two! And one of the songs that I'll be performing is one that I've never performed live before. So, wish me luck. You know, I just wonder which one it's gonna be?!"
Taylor dropped Lover on Friday, August 23rd and has already broken records, raking in the biggest sales for the an album in 2019 and becoming her sixth consecutive debut at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
Lover contains 18 gorgeous songs all about every facet of love, including lead single "Me!" featuring Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie, and the previously released "You Need to Calm Down," "The Archer" and title track "Lover." In fact, upon the album's release at midnight, Taylor took to social media to say, "This album is very much a celebration of love, in all its complexity, coziness, and chaos.
