John Mayer has earned a living by writing largely slow tempo love songs, but he may be revving it up significantly with his next single.
John shared a pic behind a studio mixing console and it was simply captioned: "120 bpm, 2:40, 9/6/19"
It appears that these are all hints regarding John’s next song. And 120bpm or beats per minute is actually very up-tempo.
For reference, high-energy dance-floor club bangers are typically 128 bpm, not exactly your standard John Mayer cut. His hit "Your Body is a Wonderland" for instance is 95 BPM.
So is this new era for Mr. Mayer? We’ll have to wait and see!
John's new track is expected to be released on September 6th.
