The Creators of 'Game of Thrones' Are About to Get Seriously Paid

Game of Thrones ended its run as one of the most popular and critically acclaimed TV shows ever and helped keep HBO as an incredibly powerful player, but the show’s creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have decided to seek a new deal at another network.

According to The Hollywood Reporter it will in all likelihood land them the richest TV deal of all time, one that will be in excess of $200 million, which is $50 million more than any other showrunners.

What will complicate the deal, whenever they sign it, is that the duo have already agreed to make at least one and maybe even three Star Wars films for Disney, which will keep their schedule loaded through at least December of 2022.

Regardless, it’s clear that the Game of Thrones creators are set to claim television’s Iron Throne.
