It’s been less than a week since Netflix’s Stranger Things made its season 3 debut on the 4th of July, but it’s already shattered streaming records.
Netflix has revealed over 40 million homes have watched at least the first episode, making it the fastest show or movie to ever reach that mark. That’s over a quarter of all their subscribers.
For frame of reference, one of their other hit shows this year, Umbrella Academy, took a month to hit 45 million viewers.
And quite a few Stranger Things fans took advantage of the free time over the holiday weekend to binge. Over 18 million households have already finished Season 3.
