Maroon 5 knew that they needed to amp up the meaning behind the video to their Cardi B remix of "Girls Like You," so they enlisted a number of female titans to appear in the almost-five minute clip, which dropped on Thursday (May 31).
In the video, Adam Levine stands in the middle of a dark performance space as the camera circles around him revealing a number of female stars like Camila Cabello, Aly Raisman, Sarah Silverman, Gal Gadot, Tiffany Haddish, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora, Millie Bobby Brown, Mary J Blige, Ellen DeGeneres and more. Cardi also appears in the clip to spew her bars to the mellow pop/rock track, which was produced by Jason Evigan & Cirkut. "I'm sure them other girls were nice enough/ But you need someone to spice it up/ So who you gonna call? Cardi, Cardi/ Come and rev it up like a Harley, Harley," she spits during the third verse of the track.
Just a day earlier, the group confirmed the whispers of a Bardi collab, tweeting, "Rumors are true. Our new single #GirlsLikeYou, ft. @iamcardib, is out tomorrow. Stay tuned for more!" "Girls Like You" is featured on M5's sixth studio album, Red Pill Blues, which dropped in November, and serves as the follow-up single to "Wait."
