Inside the Royal Wedding Reception and After-After Party

After millions tuned into the royal wedding on Saturday, May 19, the elite 200 invited to the reception and after-party turned up. Although Kensington Palace issued a 7-page document outlining rules for guests, including surrendering cell phones, a few snuck videos on social media and outlets, including The Sun and The Daily Mail, got tidbits as to what went down inside the bash held at Frogmore House and an after-after party at Chiltern House.

Hosted by Prince Charles, only 200 of the wedding guests were invited to attend the fete, which followed the ceremony at St. George’s Chapel and an afternoon reception at St George’s Hall.

According to The Sun, guests were encouraged to “dress to the nines” for an evening of “old-fashioned glamour and gallons of champagne.”

Meghan and Harry’s friends, including Jessica Mulroney, Priyanka Chopra and Serena Williams, bent the rules and posted a few snaps and videos to Instagram, revealing a look inside the bash.

According to The Sun, Williams schooled guests in beer pong, actor Idris Elba hit the turntables and helped DJ the bash, playing soul, R&B and ‘80s dance hits. There was even a royal dance-off and George Clooney took Meghan for a swirl on the dance floor.

James Corden reportedly orchestrated a dance routine which featured Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry.

“James Corden did his best to entertain and it went down an absolute treat,” a source told The Sun. “He even compered a dance-off between Harry, Charles and William.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, now Duke and Duchess of Sussex, first dance was to Whitney Houston's “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”

“There were burger bar stalls, whiskey bars, candy floss, games to play, acts performing and a DJ with a dance floor,” a source added to the British paper. “There was a gin vermouth cocktail created for Charles and Camilla, who are both massive gin fans apparently.”

Guests were also treated to monogrammed slippers to wear and dance in at the reception, which concluded with a stunning fireworks show around 2 a.m.

Pretty Little Liars actress Troian Bellisario, who is married to Suits actor Patrick J Adams, snapped the slippers and shared a glimpse on Instagram.

Guests then continued the party at Chiltern Firehouse, a late-night hot spot owned by Prince Harry’s pal Andre Balazs.
