Teen Starts Prom Dress Movement With A Single Tweet

Never underestimate the power of Twitter.

A teen took to the social media site this recently to share photos of her used prom dress that she was willing to lend out to a girl in need of a dress in her area - and she even offered to throw in shoes and a make up artist if needed!

Basically, she is the fairy godmother of prom.

See the tweets that went viral:

Her dress is STUNNING and one lucky stranger will get to wear it!

But the best part is that this act of kindness inspired many other teens to offer up their formal wear as well! Tweets were flooding in from people in other parts of the country wanting to help out with a dress as well:

And it didn't just stop with dresses! A guy offered up his tuxes and make up artists offered their services!

This is the kind of positivity and unity the internet is all about!

And don't forget those coveted prom photos!

As for Mika (who originally started the movement and offered her dress up), she HAS indeed found someone to wear her dress!

Mika also spoke to Yahoo Lifestyle and said she never expected the tweet to become such a big deal or gain the attention it has.

But she said the act became viral because: "so many people are inspired to be selfless now in their everyday acts. I want things like this to not be so abnormal.”

I think we can all learn a lesson from Mika and these teens who offered up their clothes and services for a high schooler's big day!
