Gwen Stefani has been getting in the holiday spirit since she recorded new holiday album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, this past April. The Voice coach and songstress phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, December 12, and shared that she’s especially excited to spend the holidays with boyfriend Blake Shelton and her sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 3, this year.
“We just kind of got switched around,” Gwen shared of their holiday plans. “I have the kids [this year]. We were gonna go to Oklahoma first and then come here and go back and forth but now it looks like we’re going to be here [in L.A.]"
Gwen added that they "go big" for Christmas and have a few traditions.
"We have Christmas Eve with our Christmas suits," she explained. "My boys are so huge we have to order big sizes and try them on -- it's a big project, but they have these green plaid suits so we have Christmas Eve [and go to] Christmas mass and then we go to my brother’s house and — we're such nerds — we do Christmas carols and watch the Santa meters which shows where he’s at."
Shelton is set to also join Gwen for her NBC special tonight, Gwen Stefani's You Make It Feel Like Christmas.
“I’ve wanted to do a Christmas record forever,” Gwen said of her first holiday album. “The idea of having a Christmas hit … that was kind of like my dream to be able to write one of those.”
Stefani and Shelton met on set of The Voice and went public with their romance in November 2015 after both stars' respective divorces. Shelton finalized his divorce from Miranda Lambert in July 2015, and Stefani and Gavin Rossdale announced their split in August 2015.
Gwen Stefani's You Make It Feel Like Christmas airs tonight, Tuesday, December 12, on NBC at 9/8c.
