Trader Joe’s has a product called jingle jangle and it promises to “sweep you off your feet” — but no, it isn’t and wasn’t inspired by Riverdale’s fictional drug.
Vulture launched an investigation into the tin canned product after noticing it at Trader Joe’s.
“Trader Joe’s Jingle Jangle was introduced years ago,” a TJ’s rep told Vulture. “It’s just a fun name that plays off of sleigh bells referenced in Christmas carols, since it is a holiday item. It’s also a fun way to describe the sound customers might here when they give the tin can a shake.”
The product, to be exact, is “an assortment of a whole bunch of things that taste terrific bathed in chocolate” like “organic mini pretzels covered with milk chocolate, with a white chocolate drizzle; dark chocolate covered caramel popcorn; dark chocolate covered broken Joe-Joe's; milk chocolate gems with a red candy coating; and milk & dark chocolate mini peanut butter cups.”
As for the jingle jangle sweeping The CW’s fictional Riverdale high, the Pixy Stix-looking drug was sold by the Sugar Man, aka Jughead’s now-deceased teacher Mr. Phillips at Southside High.
