Watch Kendrick Lamar Rank His Albums From Favorite To Least Favorite

Kendrick Lamar offered up loads of new information in his interview with Real 92.3 LA's Big Boy, but one of the most interesting bits from the 36-minute discussion is K. Dot's ranking of his four studio albums.

After talk about his father at the 36:00-minute mark, Lamar went into the ranking, placing DAMN. at the top of his list, followed by Good Kid, M.A.A.d. City in second place, To Pimp a Butterfly in third, and his debut project, Section.80, at the bottom of the list. "I think DAMN. is a hybrid of all these projects," the 30-year-old rapper said, emphasizing that he was able to extract the message behind Butterfly, the beats from Good Kid and rawness of Section.80 for his latest release.

As for his approach with DAMN., Lamar said that his intention with the LP was to create a body of work that would be easily digested in various settings. "We wanted to make it for all arenas. [From] the car, we want you to be in the club. We want you to be flying and listening to it and just vibing with it. That whole approach was from the jump, but at the same time, we wanted to have lyrical content, where it connect," he told Big Boy. "It's not just lyrics, but it's something that you can actually feel. There [are] stories you can feel and emotions you can relate to like pride and love and self-worth and doubt."
