Daniel Craig confirmed on Saturday Night Live over the weekend that the upcoming 25th James Bond movie No Time to Die will be his last.
It’s the end of an impressive run, 14 years with Daniel as 007 is the longest run for any actor in the role by far, but it almost ended five years ago.
After Spectre, Daniel felt truly burned out and now he’s truly grateful he didn’t make that decision.
"I was never going to do one again," he tells GQ. "I was like, 'Is this work really genuinely worth this, to go through this, this whole thing?' And I didn't feel...I felt physically really low. So the prospect of doing another movie was just like, it was off the cards."
But Daniel is okay with stepping away now. “I don’t think I would have been if I’d done the last film and that had been it. But this, I’m like...Let’s go. Let’s get on with it. I’m fine,” he added.
One of the reasons Daniel feels so good about the decision is that No Time to Die is rumored to be one of, if not the best, Bond movie yet.
No Time to Die hits theaters in November.
