Selena Gomez’s album Rare arrived on Friday and fans, music lovers, critics and even her friend Taylor Swift all seem to agree, it’s her best project to date.
Most people also seem to agree its lead single "Lose You to Love Me" is Selena’s most powerful song to date including Selena herself, who revealed how important the process of writing it was for her.
"I think I just stopped being scared. Like even in the hardest situations I found myself protecting people, even if that means they were hurting me," she says. "I don't know, it's pretty simple. I just needed it to be something I had to purge. I think it helped me feel better and comfortable with myself and not be so afraid to speak out."
By speaking up, Selena also helps to give her fans that same strength. So we salute her honestly and bravery.
