Was 'Richard Jewell' Star Paul Walter Hauser Intimidated by Clint Eastwood?

Paul Walter Hauser got the big break that all actors dream about when Clint Eastwood cast him to play the title role in the movie Richard Jewell, which tells the true story of the security guard who was wrongly accused of being a terrorist at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

While Paul had played key roles in the past in films like I, Tonya and Super Troopers 2, Richard Jewell is by far the biggest role of his career.

In fact he was cast with no audition by Clint, a legendary filmmaker who is almost as famous for his reputation as a tough guy. This is Dirty Harry after all.

So was Paul intimidated to be working with Clint? Not at all.

"Clint’s an icon, but he’s actually very sweet and there’s no ego. He really made me feel at home,: he tells TMZ. "It should have been way more intimidating than it was, but his whole crew is just really awesome."

Richard Jewell was just named as one of the 10 Best Films of 2019 by the National Board of Review. It’s out everywhere tomorrow.
