The seemingly never-ending saga of Woodstock 50, which has been nearly cancelled multiple times ahead its planned opening night on August 16th has just added a new twist.
According to TMZ the concert will be in all likelihood totally free.
In the last few days, organizers finally found a replacement location quite far from the original location in upstate New York, Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
However, two of the headliners Jay-Z and John Fogerty (who played at the original Woodstock with his band Credence Clearwater Revival) have both pulled out.
Following that, festival organizers took it one step further and released all the artists from their obligation to perform, even though they will most likely still get paid.
So, it is now going to be billed as a benefit concert and those who are able to get their hands on the free tickets are encouraged to donate to their favorite causes.
Even though nobody knows who is performing, it seems at this point Woodstock 50 will happen.
