For every aspiring musician who worries that they don’t physically fit the traditional mold of a popstar, one of the biggest artists of our generation also thinks the same thing.
Ed Sheean feels that the things he got picked on for are what helped set him apart from the pack. In a new interview with the campaign Love Music Hate Racism, he revealed:
"I hated primary school with a passion; I cried every day. I’m ginger so I was instantly ripped into from the day I started school – ginger, had a stutter, and wore huge glasses," he says. "Then when I started playing music, every time I would do a gig everyone was like 'oh, it's the ginger guy with the small guitar', and you get remembered for that."
Music also gave Ed the confidence he needed when he realized he was actually good at something and the rest is history.
