Lady Gaga was just honored for her turn as Ally in A Star Is Born with the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress, sharing it with Glenn Close (in a tie).
She closed her emotional acceptance speech by dedicating the award to all those who suffer from alcoholism and addiction or have watched their loved ones suffer.
She went on to say: “I wanted nothing more than to show the truth and the power of this very heartbreaking dynamic. This is the true star of the film. The true star is not me. It is bravery and perseverance.”
