Luke Bryan Talks “American Idol” Return, Playing Dodger Stadium

Yee-haw! Luke Bryan is set to be the first-ever country singer to perform at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium. The “Play It Again” crooner phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, July 12, to chat about his upcoming gig and reflect on his inaugural season as a judge on American Idol.

“It’s pretty amazing and surreal,” Bryan said of being the first country artist to perform at Dodger Stadium when his What Makes You Country XL Stadium Sized Tour comes to the venue on Saturday, July 28. “And I’ll tell you what: We partnered up with Verizon and with their Verizon Up campaign. It gives fans the opportunity to get VIP experiences and … the neatest thing is Verizon ropes off a section in the pit … it’s been an amazing campaign.”

Bryan is also excited to return to the judges panel on American Idol. The season 16 newbie voiced to Ryan how much he enjoyed being a part of the revived ABC show, which will return for season 17.

“When I have people come up to me that don’t know my music, but just loved the positivity that we were able to show, just having a positive show out there was really fun for me to a part of,” Bryan reflected. “If we do this for one more year or 20 more years I’m really happy that people could sit down with their families and watch it … nothing is more fun than watching dreams come true.”
