Selena Gomez nailed her 2018 Met Gala look but her spray tan turned out a little heavy. The “Wolves” singer looked like she had a blast at the annual bash, but after getting home to look at photos, she realized what the rest of the Internet had been memeing.
“Me when I saw my pictures from MET 🤷🏽♀️,” Selena captioned a video of herself running away in her custom Coach gown on Instagram, poking fun at herself.
The songstress, who is a devout Christian, said her look for the Met Ball was inspired by Queen Esther in the bible, but she was instead linked to the likes of Ross in Friends and when you first discover self-tanner on the Internet.
“It might just be the lighting but Selena Gomez looks like a first year who just discovered fake tan and caked herself in a whole bottle of cocoa brown on her way to her first disco,” one person on Twitter wrote on Monday night, while another added: “Selena Gomez was counting one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi while getting a tan yikes.”
Spray tan mishap aside, Gomez looked stunning with a bold sparkly eye and matte nude lip. She also carried with her a Kisslock Frame bag which read "A woman who fears the lord is a woman who shall be praised."
Selena has since jetted off to London and most recently teased her forthcoming highly anticipated new single “Back to You” off the season 2 13 Reasons Why soundtrack will drop on May 10.
“You’re stuck in my head and I can’t get you out of it," she teased of the lyrics. "#BacktoYou."
