Okay this is actually wild!! Apparently one of the hottest new gig jobs in L.A. right now is literally doing chores at home…TO TRAIN AI.
People all over the city are strapping cameras to their heads and hands while they make coffee, wash dishes, water plants, even scrub toilets all so robots can study how humans move and learn how to do everyday tasks themselves.
A woman has been spotted at Urth Caffé handing people gear and instructions like it’s some secret mission.
Each chore they film has to be short like two to 15 minutes.
The footage then gets uploaded to tech companies and turned into data…so your normal chores become digital lessons that engineers use to teach machines how to function in real life.
Honestly feels very futuristic and a little Black Mirror-ish…and I’m not sure how I feel about it.
