College Football Fan To Donate Venmoed 'Beer Money' To Children's Hospital

What happens when one fan making a joke ends up with their Venmo name on the highly-watched College Game Day?

Well, a lot of good, it seems.

Carson King was attending College Game Day last Saturday morning for the highly anticipated Iowa vs. Iowa State football game. Instead of bringing a sign about his favorite team, he instead made a sign sharing that he could use some beer money to buy another round of Busch Light.

Well, a LOT of people ended up seeing that sign after he held it up behind the ESPN reporters who were broadcasting the pre-game and it's safe to say Carson ended up with plenty of beer money.

And now, that amount has reached over $1 million thanks to the sign and story going viral, as well as thanks to matching donations from Busch Light and Venmo.

Don't worry, though, Carson doesn't plan on keeping the money and literally buying beer for the rest of his life with it. Instead, once the money in his Venmo reached even just $600, he talked to his family to make a plan and they helped him decide that donating the money to University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital would be the best option.

Carson kept people following along updated through his Twitter, which proves how amazing it is when people come together.

To top off the incredible moment, Bush Light also offered Carson a year's supply of beer and topped it off by making personalized cans.

This is one of the greatest stories we've seen in a while. Carson was sent to NYC to be on CNN and talk about his experience, so things are still going and the donation is growing! Think about what incredible things the children's hospital will be able to do with that amount of money!
