Eva Longoria Opens Up About Being A Mom - And Playing One On Screen

While we all have fallen in love with Eva Longoria's new life as a mom to her 13-month-old son, Santiago Enrique, through her Instagram, we are about to see her take on motherhood on the big screen for the first time since welcoming her son.

Eva plays Dora the Explorer's mom in the new live-action movie, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and she just opened up about what it was like playing a mother in a movie after having her son Santiago. Eva admits that being a mom in her daily life definitely made her more protective over her movie daughter, Isabela Moner, who plays Dora.

“I just had new eyes on the world... There was a scene where Michael [Peña, who plays Dora’s dad] and I were standing there and Dora runs back into the crumbling temple, and Michael and I were like, ‘No, no, no! We would never let our child run into the crumbling temple — that’s dangerous!’"

Eva added that “it was against every instinct in my body to not keep my child safe and let her run around the jungle, but it’s Dora."

Eva also shared in the interview that her son Santiago was there throughout the entire filming of the movie in Australia, as she was actually still breastfeeding at the time she filmed.

“I was still breastfeeding, so he had to be close to me at all times... When I am directing and producing, he is always with me on set.”

Eva has actually previously talked about her work/life balance since becoming a mom and admits that there is not just one secret to making it work. She said, "you just do it and get it done."

And I think THAT is some great advice. Moms, we can do it all! You just have to learn to do things one at a time and make it work for you as best as you can. And don't forget to relax sometimes.
