Ah, sweet summertime. Aka, the time of year when you have SO many weddings to go to, you can hardly keep straight what you wore to the last one and who you've already gotten gifts for.
But have you ever noticed while out on the dance floor that there are just some songs you DON'T hear?
Well, FiveThirtyEight did a study on the songs that most brides and grooms tell the DJ to please avoid and while some make total sense - like post-break up songs - others are a little surprising - what's wrong with Pharrell's 'Happy'?!
Here are the TOP 15 songs that people ban from their weddings:
Chicken Dance
Cha-Cha Slide
Macarena
Cupid Shuffle
YMCA
Electric Boogie (Electric Slide)
Hokey Pokey
Wobble
Happy - Pharrell Williams
Shout - Isley Brothers
Love Shack - The B-52’s
We Are Family - Sister Sledge
Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke
Celebration - Kool & The Gang
Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex
I've been to a lot of weddings over the years and I don't find many of these THAT worthy of being banned!
I mean, the Hokey Pokey is a little... odd. But What's wrong with the Cha-Cha Slide? Everyone gets up to dance!
Would you ban any of these from your wedding DJ!?
