Jasveen Sangha, the woman dubbed the 'Ketamine Queen,' was sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with the 2023 fatal overdose of Friends star Matthew Perry on Wednesday (April 8), ABC News reports.

Sangha, 42, pleaded guilty to one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distribution of ketamine, and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury in 2025 and faced up to 65 years in prison. Sangha admitted to working with another dealer to provide Perry with dozens of vials of ketamine, including the dose that ultimately resulted in his October 2023 death at the age of 54, in a plea agreement.

Sangha told the court she takes "full responsibility for my actions" while appearing at her sentencing hearing in Los Angeles federal court on Wednesday.

"I am deeply ashamed of how my actions affected all the families here today," she said, with her ankles shackled, claiming that she has "done everything I can to be a better person."

Prosecutors said Sangha should serve 15 years in prison due to her "cold callousness and disregard for life," accusing her of showing little remorse while referencing jail communications in which she discussed "obtaining 'trademarks' and securing book rights on the events of the case" prior to the sentencing in court filings. Prosecutors accused Sangha of running a "high-volume drug trafficking business out of her North Hollywood residence," having stored, packaged and distributed "dangerous drugs," including ketamine and methamphetamine, dating back to at least 2019.

Sangha reportedly continued selling the deadly drugs in spite of being notified that the ketamine she sold resulted in the overdose deaths of Perry and Los Angeles resident Cody McLaury, who died hours after purchasing four vials from her in 2019, prior to her arrest in March 2024, having initially been released on a $100,000 bond before being indicted again in August 2024, along with four co-defendants, for her specific role in Perry's death.

"She didn't care and kept selling," prosecutors wrote. "Defendant's actions show a cold callousness and disregard for life. She chose profits over people, and her actions have caused immense pain to the victims' families and loved ones."

Perry died from "the acute effects of ketamine," according to a Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office toxicology report obtained by TMZ on December 15, 2023. The Canadian-born actor was best known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing, starring alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer during all 10 seasons of Friends.

Perry also starred in several later television series including Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Go On and the 2015-17 remake of The Odd Couple, as well as film roles in The Whole Nine Yards, The Whole Ten Yards and Fools Rush In.
