A woman on Twitter helped discover a YouTube channel called “Dad, How Do I?” hosted by a man who grew up without a father and called it the “purest thing” in a tweet that’s since gone viral and contributed to the man, Rob Kenney, gaining more than 2 million followers.
And the "purest thing" it is: Kenney shares all kinds of fatherly tips, from tying a tie to fixing a flat tire or even a running toilet.
“My daughter and I — she calls me all the time and my son too asking questions about adulting — so it’s something we thought might be helpful for other people," Rob shared with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Wednesday, May 27.
The Chicago native added that he came from a “fractured” background and that he wanted to be the dad for not only his kids, but others, that he didn’t have.
“My dad left when I was 14 and I just thought that maybe this might be an opportunity to help other people that didn’t have somebody to help them navigate life,” he explained, sharing he’s also planning on using the platform for more than just how-to's.
